(Name) stared down at the sleeping male beside him, gently stroking him over his blond hair. (Name) smiled softly as his lover mumbled nonsense in his sleep. He was grateful for his lover’s soundproof walls. If Corazon’s brother hear what they were doing…

“(Name)…?”, he heard a drowsy voice mumble. (Name) brushed a couple of stray locks out of the other male’s forehead.

“What is it, Roci?”, the (h/c) haired man used his nickname for his lover’s real name. Corazon crawled closer, putting his head on (Name)’s chest.

“Why do you look so sad?”, his voice got clearer as he slowly grew more and more conscious. (Name) frowned, kissing Corazon’s head, letting his lips linger slightly, before he pulled away. How was he supposed to explain this to him?

“I… Rocinante, what is the most important thing to you?”, the (e/c) orbs lifted its view to the ceiling. There was a weird brown spot in the middle of it, so (Name) decided to train his eyes on that spot. He felt a weight at his hips, and Corazon sit himself up, meaning his lover had straddled him.

“Why do you ask, (Nickname)?”, Corazon tried to look the other male in the eyes, but the (e/c) orbs of the other wouldn’t move from the ceiling. Corazon frowned when his lover didn’t answer, and took (Name)’s chin between his fingers.

“Hey, look at me…”, he mumbled, finally making eye contact with the other. What he saw in the other’s eyes shocked him. Such vulnerable eyes, like a lonely puppy left out in the rain after his owner had kicked him. Such pain hid behind (Name)’s eyes, like he’s lost something really important. Such sorrow, like his world was crashing down.

“Run away with me.”, the answer came out with little to no hope, frustrating (Name) greatly over his incompetence. Corazon froze in shock, not knowing what to say. Why would (Name) ask him to do that? Was he not happy here? Why…?

“I… I can’t… I love you but…”, Corazon’s voice trailed off. (Name) bit his lip, nodding, before he got up, knocking off Corazon at the same time. He quietly started to get dressed, feeling Corazon’s eyes burning holes in his back.

“I… I’ll see you around Corazon…”, (Name) mumbled, silently exiting the room. At that moment Corazon knew he made a mistake.

(Name) didn’t know where he was going, but after a while he ended up in an alleyway. His back hit the wall, as he broke down. He slowly slid down to his knees.

“Bloody hell! I… WHY WOULD I SAY THAT?!”, a choked scream escaped his lips, as he covered his eyes with a hand. (Name)’s eyes leaked the salty liquid known as tears, he didn’t even make an effort to stop them.

“Heh, you’re one pathetic sight…”, the (h/c) haired male looked up at whoever was speaking. A boy stood in front of him, ragged and dirty clothes covering his body, a fluffy hat sitting on his hair. The eyes of the boy, filled with hatred (Name) hadn’t seen in a long while. It was like staring into the mirror of his younger self.

“I guess you’re right…”, even though his voice was sad, his lips held a smile. The pale boy furrowed his eyebrows, giving (Name) a cold glare. He crossed his small arms in front of his chest. (Name)’s smile didn’t falter, but did have a sad tint to it.

“Who are you…? Why do you keep smiling…? Aren’t you mad at the world?!”, (Name)’s eyebrows furrowed, looking at the boy. The venom shined through his words, anger and sadness present in the dark eyes of the boy.

“(Name)… I’m (Name)… Who are you?”, (Name) said lowly, slowly standing up, now realizing that the kid was in fact pretty tall. He was maybe nine or ten at most. The boy looked up at him, furrowing his eyebrows.

“Law…”, the boy, Law, muttered, moving his glaring eyes down to the ground. (Name) continued smiling, as if his heart wasn’t broken, nodding slightly. Someone called out his name, and (Name) would be able to pick that voice out of a crowd if he had to. His smile fell, which Law noticed. Law tugged on (Name)’s shirt.

“This way…”, he mumbled, leading the (h/c) haired male down the alleyway, away from whoever made (Name)’s smile falter.

They didn’t see the heartbroken, blond male run past the opening, looking for his lover.
